Holland Harkin is the eighth child and only daughter of Donal and Tinsley Harkin. From a very early age, the Harkin children were taught that hard work pays off. As Holland got older, she grew up and proved such to be true as well as well quite the formidable young lady. Excelling in classes at school and throughout her neighbourhood. Always the first to lend a helping hand when help was needed is one reason why she is much beloved by the ones who know the Harkins are a of the salt of the earth, working class family.

When she finally made up her mind, Holland sat her parents down and let them know she wished to further her education....in another country.. Wondering if she made the right decision to leave home, Holland hoped this was a choice she wouldn't regret and looked forward to the adventures that awaited her in America.
