My name is Joy Noelle Winters. Please call me Joy. When I was born, my parents named me Joy Noelle because it was near Christmas. For the most part, I had a great childhood until about three months ago when something terrible happened. I had just started the new semester at my old college. My parents were on their way to come see me and see how I was doing. A car hit them on the driver’s side. My dad died instantly. My mom held on for a few days, but she, too, died. I had to try to keep going, but to me there was nothing left. I couldn’t continue school. I was an only child. There were only my grandparents, but they lived far away in a little town called Woodcrest, Massachusetts. I did some stupid things. I didn’t go to a few classes. I stopped going to volleyball practice. I stopped writing, the one thing I loved most of all. So, here I am in this town where my grandparents live close to the university. Maybe it’s a second chance, but I am not okay. I miss them. I don’t know what is going to happen now.
