Purpose: Define baseline requirements for Greek organizations to be officially chartered by Woodcrest University and eligible for Greek Council participation.

This document establishes the operational and governance standards for Greek organizations at Woodcrest University, including:
- Requirements for founding a new Greek house
- Charter maintenance expectations
- Resource allocation
- Disqualification and reinstatement procedures
- Evaluation and enforcement criteria
These standards apply equally to all current and future Greek organizations.
The following requirements apply specifically to the creation of a new Greek organization at Woodcrest University.
- Greek Row has a hard cap of 5 houses
- This limit will remain in place for the foreseeable future
- New Greek houses may only be approved if a slot becomes available due to:
- Charter revocation
- Voluntary dissolution
- Administrative restructuring of Greek Row
Approval of a new Greek house does not guarantee immediate placement on Greek Row unless capacity exists.
- Each proposed Greek house must designate a Founding Charter President
- The Founding President must:
- Have been an active member of Woodcrest for a minimum of 9 consecutive months
- Be in good standing with:
- Woodcrest University
- The Admin Team
- Any prior organizations or leadership roles
- The Founding President is the primary accountable party during the chartering and probationary phases
In addition to all standard charter requirements, new Greek houses will be evaluated on:
- Clear founding values, mission, and identity
- Long-term sustainability and leadership continuity
- Non-redundancy with existing Greek organizations
- Alignment with the tone and culture of Woodcrest Greek life
Approval is not guaranteed solely by meeting minimum requirements.
- Minimum of 5 active members required to maintain Greek status

Active member defined as consistent participation in house meetings and activities
- Includes pledges
- Required leadership structure:
- 1 President
- At least 2 officer positions
- Examples: Vice President, Social Chair, Pledge Mentor Lead
- Members must be:
- Enrolled Woodcrest University students, or
- Legacy members who remain consistently active participants
- Co-ed houses are not permitted official Greek status at this time
- Host at least 2 public events between Rush periods
- Public events are open to townfolk outside of the University and or Greek life
- Examples:
- Charity fundraisers
- Community service events
- Open parties
- Participate in at least 1 roleplay-focused campus-wide event between Rush periods
- Campus-wide events are exclusive to the student body
- Examples:
- Academic competitions
- Sports tournaments
- University traditions
- Student showcases
- Host at least 1 house event per month
- Open to all members of the respective house
- Examples:
- House dinners
- Brotherhood or sisterhood activities
- Hold regular chapter meetings
- Minimum requirement: bi-weekly
- Maintain consistent on-sim presence and activity
- Determined through fulfillment of membership and activity requirements
- Abide by all Woodcrest University rules and policies
- Submit all pledge and membership activities to the Admin Team for approval before implementation
- Maintain good standing with the Greek Council
- Uphold values of:
- Community
- Scholarship
- Leadership
- Provide an updated active membership roster to Admins during the 1-week period prior to Rush
- If placed on probation:
- Meet all improvement criteria within 4 months of probation issuance
- Unique letters, colors, and symbols that do not conflict with existing houses
- Clear founding values and mission statement
- Defined recruitment and new member education process
- Charter approval required from:
- Greek Council
- Admin Team
- Access to Greek Council meetings and voting rights
- Official participation in Rush events
- Ability to create and host official Greek events
- Access to campus facilities for events
- Eligibility for university funding for approved events
- Inclusion in:
- Greek Week
- Other Greek-exclusive activities
Note: These resources do not include housing on Greek Row, which is subject to availability and separate qualification criteria.
A Greek organization may lose its charter if any of the following occur:
- Membership falls below 5 active members for more than 4 consecutive months
- Failure to meet minimum activity requirements for 1 consecutive Rush cycle
- Serious violations of Woodcrest University policies
- Failure to adhere to approved pledge or membership activities
- Failure to meet probation improvement criteria within the 4-month timeframe
- Voluntary surrender of charter by organization leadership
- Submit a formal written application to the Greek Council
- Include:
- Current membership roster
- Leadership structure
- Plan to meet all charter requirements
- Address how previous issues have been resolved, if applicable
- Greek Council reviews the application
- A hearing is scheduled with the organization
- The organization presents its case
- Greek Council votes on a recommendation
- If approved by Greek Council:
- Application is forwarded to the Admin Team
- The Admin Team makes the final determination
- If approved:
- The organization enters probationary status
- Organization must meet all requirements for one full Rush cycle
- Regular status reports submitted to Greek Council
- Full charter restored upon successful completion
The Admin Team recognizes that exceptional situations may arise.
- Houses may request temporary exemptions from specific requirements with proper documentation
- Extenuating circumstances may include:
- Major sim-wide events affecting activity
- Significant membership transitions
- Technical issues affecting participation
- Requests must be submitted in writing to the Admin Team
- Decisions are made on a case-by-case basis
Greek houses will be evaluated on:
- Active member count and retention
- Campus and community involvement
- Adherence to university policies
- Fulfillment of all stated requirements
- These requirements take effect immediately upon approval
- Existing houses must ensure compliance
- New applications will be evaluated under these criteria immediately
This document provides clear and consistent operational standards for Greek organizations at Woodcrest University.
It does not re-litigate past decisions regarding specific organizations.
These guidelines apply equally to all current and future Greek houses.
